Clara Sanabras
Clara Sanabras is an Anglo-Spanish singer, guitarist and songwriter. Since moving to London as a teenager, she has toured and recorded with some of the finest international ensembles including The Harp Consort, Theatre of Voices, The Dufay Collective, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Israel Camerata, Charivari Agréable. Following her acclaim as a singer as well as an arranger and multi-instrumentalist, she started writing and performing her own songs with her band The Real Lowdown. 'You can imagine Clara Sanabras's new group being a big hit with Radio 2 listeners, folkies, Prommers, Jools-watchers, Womad-goers and so on. Sanabras, whose day job is performing early music...brings a refreshing twist to the singer-songwriter tradition'. The Guardian
Clara has worked in theatre, film and TV, appearing in The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino and collaborating with Natacha Atlas, Django Bates, Alberto Iglesias, Rachel Portman, Jocelyn Pook, Luke Concannon (Nizlopi) and maverick producer and composer Harvey Brough (Harvey and the Wallbangers)
'Natacha Atlas clearly enjoyed working with a new team of musicians, and most notable amongst these is the singer and guitarist, Clara Sanabras. A darling of the early music fraternity, her contributions are utterly enchanting and the duet on ‘La Vida Callada' is pure delight.' Songlines Magazine
