Violin Sonata No.9 in A major, commonly known as the Kreutzer Sonata is a violin sonata Beethoven published in 1802 as his opus 47. It is known for its demanding violin part, unusual length and emotional scope.
La Primavera is probably the most well known of the first group of Sonatas for violin and piano, the op. 24, and was first printed in Vienna together with Sonata in A minor. The character of the Sonata is clear form the opening Allegro where the violins presents a theme of simple lyricism. This sonata is also notable for being the first for violin and piano structuired in 4 movements.
