Randi had her educationin music from The Roehampton School of Arts in London. She made her debut as a jazz singer in 2001 at the Maijazz festival and just a few short years later was announced to be 'The artist of the year' in her home town Stavanger.

Tytingvaag has since released serveral albums to critical acclaim, and is now one of Europe's most sought after young jazz performers.
