Fone Ensemble - director Marco Fornaciari
Marco Fornaciari began to study the violin in his native town of Livorno, with Cesare Chiti and then continued at the Chigi Academy under Salvatore Accardo, Riccardo Brengola and Franco Gulli. He went on to achieve his diploma with distinction in Corrado Romano's class at the Geneva Conservatory.
He has played as a soloist in the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including the Musikverein in Vienna, La Scala in Milan, Bunka Kaikan and the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Lincoln Center in New York, the Salle Pleyel in Paris. He also dedicates himself actively to the repertoire for viola (of which he has recorded a number of CDs both of recitals and with orchestras) and to "historically-faithful" performances on baroque violin.
He has made many recordings for important recording companies of works by Beethoven, Bartok, Fauré, Ravel, Schumann, Schoenberg, Vivaldi and Paganini.
He is one of the very few to have been granted the privilege of playing several times on the Stradivari belonging to the city of Cremona and on Paganini's Guarnieri belonging to the city of Genoa at the town's Carlo Felice theatre.
