Lacrimae Ensemble

Lacrimae Ensemble

The Lacrimae Ensemble is a group founded by recorder player Ronald Moelker who wished to create his own baroque ensemble with musicians who specialised in the performance of early music on historical instruments.

The first performance took place while touring with the English soprano Catherine Bott for the Early Music Network (NL) in 1993. Since then the ensemble has recorded several albums and appeared regularly on radio. It also found its way to the concert stage with a wide range of programmes from the renaissance and baroque periods.
