Les Menestrels is an ensemble which was founded in 1963. It is devoted to authentic, vivid interpretation of music from the 13th to the 16th centuries.

The performances given by the ensemble are based on research into historical performance practice and instrumentation with reference to the current work of distinguished musicologists, instrument collectors and restorers. The various historical instruments used by the ensemble are partly original instruments and partly constructed in the group's workshop or by instrument makers. Programs given by Les Menestrels which include narration and scenic action have been especially popular with audiences around the world.

The group consists of four to ten singers and instrumentalists with about seventy historical instruments at their disposal. In addition to their concert appearances, they are often invited to give lectures and master classes.
