'Margaret Fingerhut has an impressively powerful attack and real musical command.' Financial Times
'Margaret Fingerhut is alive to every aspect of the music.' International Piano
'Fingerhut's technique surfed easily through all. Endearingly though, she doesn't put steel tips on her fingers and is daring enough to trust herself and her audience with passages of true pianissimo.' Musical Opinion
Renowned the world over for her entertaining and unique musical performances, Margaret Fingerhut is a British concert pianist whose style has been heralded as particularly poetic. Her extensive recording with the label Chandos has received international critical acclaim and her numerous albums stand as a testament to her adoration of lesser known composers such as Bax, Berkeley, Greig, Leighton and Suk.
She has given recitals across the USA, Canada, India, Africa and Europe and has also appeared as a concert soloist with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchesta and London Mozart players to name but a few. Further to this, her performances have featured regularly on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM as well as other non-UK based radio stations.
In previous years, Margaret Fingerhut taught piano at the Royal Northern College of Music and now is a visiting tutor at Birmingham Conservatoire. She has given masterclasses in a number of countries such as the USA, Canada and China as well as teaching in her home country, the UK, at Darunston International Summer School and Chetham's International Summer School for Pianists. In addition to her work in teaching, she has further contributed to her field by writing articles for such magazines as 'Classical Music' and 'Piano Professional'.
