Marianne Muller - viole de gambe
Marianne Muller, a participant in and observer of the Baroque revival for more than twenty years now, divides her music-making among many different ensembles all over the world (including La Chapelle Royale and Hespèrion XXI), and plays alongside such outstanding personalities as Les Nièces de Rameau, Chiara Banchini, Françoise Lengellé, Martin Bauer and Violaine Cochard.
During this time she has continued her own artistic research while training a new and highly promising generation of young viol players at the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) in Lyon. After recording for harmonia mundi and Le Chant du Monde, she released a Marin Marais recital and the complete Bach gamba sonatas on Universal, followed by chamber repertoire and a solo CD of Abel, Telemann and Bach on Zig-Zag Territoires. Her growing predilection for contemporary music and her keen interest in theatre and dance have frequently prompted her to take part in the creation of new repertoire, thus further renewing the range of possibilities of her instrument and her own performing practice.
