Founded in 2005 by Scott Inglis-Kidger and Claire Jaggers, Platinum Consort specialise in early music from the Tenebrae tradition as well as bringing attention to newly commisioned contemporary pieces. Platinum Consort originated at the University of Cambridge and attracted singers from the highly-esteemed St John's, Jesus, Trinity and King's Colleges, their members being among the top young singers in London.
Platinum Consort also run a boy's choir which aims to be one of the best of its kind in Britain. Further to this, they run a number of choral workshops aimed to provide opportunities for singers who wish to explore choral repetoire in smaller groups.
Scott Inglis-Kidger, the co-founder and director of Platinum Consort, is a London-based conductor, vocal coach and singing teacher. He read music at Cambridge and is also director of music for Thomas's Choral Society. While a member of the internationally acclaimed King's College Choir, he sang as countertenor. Previously, he was also director of music at Willington Independent Preperatory School and Thomas's Preperatory School, Battersea where he established highly regarded liturgical choirs in both schools. Now, he directs workshops across the country and is regarded as a top early music specialist, being highly in demand as a vocal coach on both an individual and group basis.
