Sarah Jane Brandon

Winner of the 2009 Kathleen Ferrier Competition, soprano Sarah-Jane Brandon studied at the Royal College of Music.




Her operatic appearances have included Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Sandrina (La finta giardiniera), and Marenka (The Bartered Bride) at the Royal College of Music, and Lisaura (Alessandro) at the London Handel Festival. She made her professional debut in the 2010/11 season at the English National Opera. In recital her appearances include the Wigmore Hall, the Crush Bar of the Royal Opera House, the Chester and Buxton Festivals and the Oxford and Leeds Lieder Festivals. She is an Associate Artist of the Classical Opera Company. Her many awards include the Maggie Teyte Prize and Miriam Licette Scholarship administered by the Musicians Benevolent Fund; the Overseas Trophy and the Lorna Viol and Audrey Strange Prizes in the 2008 Royal Over-Seas League Competition and the Cuthbert Smith Prize in the RCM's Lies Askonas Competition.
