Studium Chorale from 2005 worked as a professional chamber choir. The productions are led by artistic director Hans Leenders or special guest conductors. The choir was founded in 1972 and has in recent years developed into one of the leading chamber choirs in the Netherlands. The occupation of Studium Chorale ranges from eight to forty singers according to the demands of the music suggests. The singers are from the Netherlands, Flanders and Germany. The wide-ranging repertoire includes choral culture five centuries, from Renaissance polyphony to new commissioned works.
The choir kept the world premieres of compositions by Henry Delnooz, Jean Lambert, Ton de Leeuw, Jo van den Booren, Lowell Dijkstra, Jeanne Demessieux, Daan Manneke, Roderick de Man, Marijn Simons, Hans Leenders and Margreeth de Jong. regularly works Studium Chorale together with ensembles and orchestras including Ensemble 88, Florilegium Musicum and the Limburg Symphony Orchestra, and numerous soloists. Recently, the ensemble led by Ed Spanjaard, Steffen Schreyer, Erik Van Nevel and Andrew Parrott.
Studium Chorale is a regular guest at home and abroad and kept several radio and television recordings. The choir's cultural establishment plan 2009-2012 of the Province of Limburg and the Municipality of Maastricht and is supported by the Fund for the Performing Arts.
