Transformer di Roboter

Transformer di Roboter was founded by Alex Kloster (also active in Chlorgeschlecht, Puppetmastaz) in 2002. Transformer is an electronic band from Berlin that has played over 200 shows all over Europe since 2003.

Since their live world Premier at the legendary ‘Automatenbar' in Berlin with Modeselektor in 2002, Transformer has played over 200 shows across European clubs, live venues, music and art festivals as well as parties with artists as diverse as Jamie Lidell, DAF, LCD Soundsystem, Puppetmastaz, Robots in Disguise, TTC, Egotronic and many more. Transformer di Roboter shows are notorious for being energetic, spontaneous and extravagant.

The first Transformer EPs and a mini-album were released on WMF-Records Berlin and Deco Records Paris. Planet-Mu, Diamondtraxx, Lado, L'age d'or, Whitelabel, Basserk and Metrohead are some of the labels on which Transformer have made compilation contributions. More recently Transformer has had some attention from influential Music blogs in North America, Europe and Australia.

Aside from various official and white label remixes, the members of Transformer are also involved in projects such as Puppetmastaz, Dånzen Jetzt (Klangkrieg), Ensemble (Rephlex/Fat Cat/ ).

Alexander is also active in an electroaccoustic noise project named Chlorgeschlecht (Deco) which has earned ‘Honorable Mention' at the Prix Ars Electronica in 2004.

Currently Alexander is working with Berlin based Puppetmastaz for their upcoming theatre piece as well as the next album to be released in 2013. Alexander is also an irregular member of the Puppetmastaz crew and has been performing some shows with them since 2011. A collaboration with Electrosexual (with very promising remixes) is in the making and to be released in late 2012.

Works for animation film as well as sound installation art are other playing grounds.
