Trio Italiano

Since its foundation Trio Italiano has won the attention of audiences thanks to its personal style of performance in the chamber repertoire. The Trio is made up of outstanding musical personalities: Giovanni Battista Rigon on piano, Sonig Tchakerian on violin and Silvia Chiesa on cello.

Since its foundation Trio Italiano has won the attention of audiences thanks to its personal style of performance in the chamber repertoire. The Trio, which is made up of outstanding musical personalities (winners of such prizes as the Paganini Prize, the ARD Munich competition, the Concours de Paris), took its first steps under the guidance of such artists as Accardo, Canino, Demus, Filippini, Milstein, Janigro, the Trio di Trieste. Winning the prestigious "Gui" Prize in Florence in 1990 opened up the doors of the major Italian and international concert institutions. In 1992 the Trio inaugurated its own chamber festival, "Music Week at theTeatro Olimpico", where in the splendid setting of the famous Palladian theatre in Vicenza theTrio has worked with famous performers like Bruno Giuranna, Raina Kabaivanska, Franco Petracchi and Shlomo Mine The Trio has been invited to play as soloist with various European orchestras, making its debut in 1999 in London with the Royal Philharmonie Orchestra condueted by Daniele Gatti. On the ARTS label the Trio has recorded the complete chamber works of Beethoven (47249-2, 47250-2, 47251-2), Schumann (47526-2,47527-2), Ravel (47238-2) and Debussy.
