Digital Music Collections
In January 2008 Linn Records, in conjunction with RipFactory, launched new digital music collections which make it even easier to enjoy Linn Records digital music catalogue. Linn Records customers are now able to purchase the entire Linn Records digital music catalogue, or bespoke section of the the digital music catalogue, in a quick and easy way that decreases order and download time substantially.
There are two storage methods to choose from:USB and NAS. Please read the information below so that you can be fully informed when deciding upon which stroage method and collection best suits your individual needs.
Why Choose USB?
If you already have a NAS device for your Linn DS digital stream player, USB is a cost effective way to have your new collection delivered and these files can be copied directly to your primary NAS device, using the USB drive as a permanent backup. If you are using a PC or other digital music device that supports USB drives, then this is a good choice. Bear in mind though that there is no protection on a USB device, so if the drive gets damaged there is no recovery method and you should contact Linn Records in this case.
Why Choose NAS?
If you do not have storage and are awaiting a Linn DS digital stream player or similar product, then the NAS will provide your central repository for all of your music collection and you may add to it at any time. NAS devices also provide protection against data loss.

How do I hook my drive up when I get it?
Your delivery contains clear instructions on how to get the most out of your new music on which ever device you choose, and we are only a telephone call away if you need more technical help. In most cases, it is a simple case of plug in and enjoy.
What delivery methods are available?
Your digital music collection can be delivered on either a USB or a NAS device. As standard the USB device is a Lacie FA 500GB design with USB2.0 connections which can easily be attached to any PC or MAC for immediate enjoyment of your new collection. A NAS device is useful if you have a network or are using any Linn DS digital stream player and need initial storage. As standard, we ship 500GB Qnap TS109 devices with RAID protection to ensure your data is secure, and we also load a UPnP server on the NAS device so it's a simple case of plugging into your network to get running.
How is the drive delivered?
You drive is despatched fully loaded with your chosen content on the day you order, if the order is placed before 3PM. We use Initial Citylink for UK and European deliveries, which provide next day service and Fedex for the rest of the world with delivery normally within 3-5 working days. All services are insured and you will be given tracking details when your order ships.
