How to purchase a Gift Certificate

Click on the Gift Certificates link on the home page.
You should select the appropriate "currency" for the Gift Certificate recipient. For example: if the recipient lives in Greece, select Euros as the currency. The total you are due to pay will be calculated in the currency of your billing country. If you wish to purchase a Sterling Gift Certificate for an international recipient you can do so. The Gift Certificate will be converted at the daily rate upon redemption.
You should then select the Gift Certificate "amount". You can choose from one of the pre-selected amounts from 5 - 200 or you can choose "other" and select an amount of your choice.
Please note that Gift Certificates are valid against one purchase only. Any remaining balance on the Gift Certificate will be lost if it is not used. If you would like to give the recipient the option to redeem their Gift Certificates against multiple purchases you should purchase multiple Gift Certificates up to the value of the total amount you wish to spend. For example: if you would like to purchase £15 worth of Gift Certificates, but would like to give the recipient some flexibility to use them at different times, you should purchase three x £5 Gift Certificates.
When you have selected your "currency" and "amount" click "add" and this will add the Gift Certificate to your shopping cart. You can then "continue shopping" or proceed to "checkout".
When you have placed your order you will receive an email confirming your Gift Certificate reference number. This is what the recipient will need in order to redeem the Gift Certificate. You can email the recipient with this number or print off the email and post it to them.
Please ensure the recipient is aware that Linn Records Gift Certificates expire after 1 year.
Please note that you cannot use a Gift Certificate to purchase a Gift Certificate.

How to redeem a Gift Certificate

Linn Records Gift Certificates can be redeemed against any CD, Download or Vinyl purchase at www.linnrecords.com. They can also be redeemed by placing an order by post or telephone (online redemption rules and exclusions apply).
If you want to redeem your Gift Certificate against an online purchase, you should add your chosen items to the shopping cart. On the "shopping cart" page you will see a "Gift Certificate" box. You should enter your Gift Certificate reference number here. Click "add" and the shopping cart will recalculate the total due. If the value of the Gift Certificate is the same as, or higher, than the value of your order, the total due will be zero. If the value is zero, you will not be asked for any payment details. We recommend that you always use the full value of your Gift Certificate or you will lose the unused balance.
When you have clicked "add" you can either "continue shopping" or proceed to "checkout".
Please note Gift Certificates are valid for one year and will expire after this date.
Please note Gift Certificates are valid against one purchase only. Any remaining balance on the Gift Certificate will be lost if it is not used.

Exclusions

Here are some common questions and solutions for anyone experiencing a problem with their Gift Certificate. If you do not find your answer here please email us.

Problem: I have lost my Gift Certificate reference number.
Solution: You should ask the purchaser to log in at www.linnrecords.com and click on "my account". The Gift Certificate reference number will be listed here. If they cannot find it you should ask the purchaser to email us and we will be able to confirm the reference number.

Problem: I have tried to enter a Gift Certificate reference number, but it says it has expired.
Solution: Gift Certificates expire one year after purchase. If you believe the Gift Certificate should still be valid please email us.

Problem: I have a Gift Certificate which is for a higher value than my order - what should I do?
Solution: You can place an order which has a value lower than your Gift Certificate, however, you will lose the balance if you do this. We recommend that you always use the full value of your Gift Certificate so you do not lose the unused balance.

Problem: Can I buy downloads with a Gift Certificate?
Solution: Yes, you can.

Problem: I have used my Gift Certificate to purchase another Gift Certificate but the total has not been recalculated.
Solution: This is because you cannot use a Gift Certiifcate to purchase another Gift Certificate. If you redeem a Gift Certificate against a Gift Certificate purchase you will lose the full value of your Gift Certificate. We strongly recommend that you do not do this.

Problem: Do I have to enter my credit/debit card details when I redeem a Gift Certificate?
Solution: If your order total exceeds the value of your Gift Certificate you will be asked to enter your credit/debit card details to pay the remaining balance. If the value of the Gift Certificate is the same as, or higher, than the value of your order, the total due will be zero. If the value is zero, you will not be asked for any payment details.

Problem: Can I use a promotion code and a Gift Certificate in the same purchase?
Solution: Yes, you can.

Gift Certificates and their use are subject to Linn Records Terms and Conditions.
Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for a cash refund.
The risk of loss and title for Gift Certificates pass to the purchaser upon our electronic transmission to the recipient. We are not responsible for lost or stolen gift certificates.
Linn Records may provide Gift Certificate purchasers with information about the redemption status of Gift Certificates.
