BBC Radio 3's CD Review discusses downloading

18 February 2008

On BBC Radio 3's CD Review on 16th February, presenter Andrew McGregor was joined by download enthusiast James Jolly, in a lively discussion about the benefits of downloading.  Naturally the Linn Records website was mentioned and was particularly praised.

Both Andrew and James recommended lossless files over MP3 as the choice for downloaders.  James had this advice for listeners: "go straight to the Linn Records website (www.linnrecords.com) and read about downloading there, certainly about lossless downloading, as they have got a wonderful FAQs section; it's very clearly written, it's just very logical and it's also very honest.  Linn tell it as it is and actually it's very helpful indeed."

www.linnrecords.com was also praised by Andrew McGregor for the free testfiles: "Linn's sample site is extremely helpful in finding out what works with your system and what gives you the best results."  Click here for the free testfiles.

You can listen again to the discussion at the BBC website until 23rd February 2008.  You can also hear the opening movement of the G minor Symphony (No. 40) by Sir Charles Mackerras and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and 'Mache dich mein Herze rein' from the Dunedin Consort's new recording of Bach's Matthew Passion.
