Claire Martin is one of the jewels of the UK jazz scene. With a breathtaking ability to inhabit a lyric and bring songs to life, she appears in support of her new Linn album "A Modern Art". Expect stylishly re-worked and much loved standards by Cy Coleman and Rodgers and Hart, sassy originals and modern classics from Esbjorn Svensson, Michael Franks and Donald Fagan, all expertly played by Martin's world-class trio: Gareth Williams on piano, Laurence Cottle on bass and Chris Dagley on drums.
Claire is fresh from a hugely successful run at New York's Oak Room, which had the New York Times lauding her Subtle, beautifully acted interpretations and the New York Observer acclaiming Run, don't walk to the Algonquin. Do not miss this chance to see Britain's five-times BBC Best Vocalist winner live in concert.

Claire MartinA Modern Art
- Beautifully delivered with trademark cool-school virtuosity by Martin. The Metro
- Her versions of such urbane numbers as Everything I've Got Belongs to You by Rodgers and Hart and Cy Coleman's Everybody Today is Turning On are utterly assured. The Times
- Claire Martin has always been a talented and exciting singer, but with this album, she gives evidence of both maturity and being at one with her art. Jazzwise
