Hear Musica Secreta on BBC Radio 3

Tune in to BBC Radio 3 on Sunday 23 September (18:30-20:00) to hear Deborah Roberts and Laurie Stras, the musical directors of Musica Secreta talk to Aled Jones on his show The Choir.

Musica Secreta is an early music group that specialises in performing music for female vocal ensemble and they have recorded three beautiful discs for Linn Records.  You can hear exceprts from their recording Dangerous Graces which was awarded a Diapason Decouverte upon its release and Dialogues With Heaven, a disc of music by composer Chiara Margarita Cozzolani.

Musica Secreta talk about an emerging repertoire written in the 16th and 17th centuries by little-known but talented female composers, courtiers, courtesans and nuns - an area in whcih they specialise.
