Pamela Thorby to appear in SkyArts' new series

Pamela Thorby will be appearing on ‘First Love', a new series on SkyArts which sees celebrities revisit their first musical love and discover what drove their passion. Guided by a mentor, the celebrities retrain in their chosen instrument with daily practice and music lessons, finally building towards a live performance at a prestigious London venue in front of a paying audience. Through meeting their mentors and professional musicians in their genre the celebrities, who include amongst others, Lenny Henry, Katie Derham and Meera Syal, gain a deeper understanding of the artistic process and nature of their chosen instruments.

Pamela's challenge is to teach Janet Street-Porter the art of the recorder...In the episode which will be broadcast on the 8th September Pamela meets Janet at London's Early Music Shop to talk her through the various recorders and choose which instrument she will learn and eventually perform to the public on. Will Pamela be able to teach Janet in time for her concert at the Wigmore Hall?
