Sir Charles Mackerras is Artist of the Week

The greatly-celebrated conductor, Sir Charles Mackerras, has been named Artist of the Week on Gramophone Archive. Gramophone explore the work of Sir Charles from his early years to his recent successes: follow this link to read more. There's also an Essential Discography which includes the multi-award-winning 'Mozart Symphonies 38 - 41'! Sir Charles, who was presented with the Gramophone Classic FM Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2006 ceremony, reunites with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for 'Mozart Symphonies 29, 31 (Paris), 32, 35 (Haffner) & 36 (Linz)'. The recording, which was only released on the 15th March, has been receiving fantastic feedback including a Gramophone Recommended and International Record Review Outstanding: "...a performance of absolute mastery".
