Baba Scholae

Baba Scholae's 69 is a major cult album from 1969 which never disappoints. While some legendary records lose their power iver time, this album is a true classic which deserves to be recognised alongside other rock masterpieces of this period.

The 21st century listener is perhaps even better equipped to understand this project than their 20th century counterpart since they are aware of the musical development of the 40 years following the original release of 69.

69 is an album which benefits from the forward thinking nature of Babe Scholae at that time. Jean-Yves Labat de Rossi and his ‘partners in crime' were too young, proud and ambitious to have so much as considered imitating their peers and so, they pushed forward to explore new territories with a freshness that helped them avoid the pitfalls that causes so many albums to lose their allure over time.
