'Deadpool' is the musically comic fare that we all expect from Miller but it's got a lot of heart too. If you ever need a song about comic book characters that manages to tread the line of being typically miserable Scottish music but can make you smile at the same time then 'Deadpool' does all this in a spectacular way. The b-side spoken word track is a stand against the fat cats, and a much more eloquent speech than many politicians can manage. It's a strong statement, but with the Shambles brand of humour too. A very worthy b-side that makes you respect the man behind the music even more than you did before.' Notes & Notations
'Startling and prescient, while its sentiment is powerful.' RaveChild.co.uk
'...folk music that recalls the likes of Ray LaMontage, Iron & Wine, Johny Cash & early Bob Dylan...through its use of simple but effective chord changes which are designed to link effectively with the vocal patterns being weaved and accentuate the lyrics, which are both cutting and humorous.' We are delighted to bring you the second two-track single from Scottish singer-songwriter Shambles Miller, whose flawless blend of pop-culture references, wit and straight up personality are impossible to pass by.
The first track of this single is a tour of comic book, movie and sci-fi references which, while characteristically upbeat, hits the mark emotionally. The second track is a perfectly paced spoken word piece of a darker sort, particularly relevant to the current political climate.
