Middleton has had trapped in him all this time' The Arts Desk
Recorded and produced by Paul Savage at Chem19 Studios, the album, by Malcolm's own admission, did not turn out exactly as he had planned, evolving instead into an irresistibly melodic collision of electronica, live drums, guitars and drum machines.
When listening to 'Human Don't Be Angry' it is easy to conjure up images and that may be due to it's film score quality and the building of themes. Many of the tracks are ambient in nature. A combination of slow and solid electronic beats and the live feel of a drum kit gives a good balance whilst the clean, fresh guitar textures build along side the melodies beautifully. Not all tracks are purely instrumentals, but vocal samples add spice and Middleton's singing is uncompromising and honest.
