'Recuerdos - Guitar Classics' contains the most popular classical guitar pieces Durrant has played over the last few years including Asturias (Albeniz), Recuerdos de la Alhambra & Capricho Arabe (Tarrega) and Stanley Myers' Cavatina. They've all been recorded before many times, but not on such an instrument and not in surround sound*. The recording was produced by the guitarist and legendary teacher Charles Ramirez (Durrant's mentor from his days at the Royal College of Music).
This album was recorded Richard Durrant's signature instrument ‘The Richard Durrant Concert Guitar'. The radical design, created by Gary Hearn from St Albans, has already attracted ecstatic reviews from the guitar press, including claims that this instrument has expanded the capabilities of the classical guitar.
