Maeve O'Boyle - vocals & guitar
"Swimming Upstream" is Maeve O'Boyle's personal take on being cautious when it comes to falling in love. Co-written with Echo and the Bunnymen guitarist Gordy Goudie and pop maestro John McLaughlin.
Maeve writes: "Swimming Upstream" is my happy little accident. I started writing "Swimming Upstream" with Gordy and John for another artist, but after laying the vocals down on the demo, I asked for it. It's a song about being overly cautious when it comes to falling in love and is written from the perspective of someone who not only has been hurt before, but who also is terrified of being duped by the fantasy of love and all it entails."
"Swimming Upstream" is the first single taken from Maeve O'Boyle's debut album "All My Sins" which is due for release in June 2009.
