Killer cuts recorded during Maybard Ferguson's famous time in the UK.

Download includes - cover art

A second amazing set of lost live work from Maynard Ferguson - killer cuts recorded during his famous time in the UK - a point when he was making some massively funky grooves! The vibe here is as powerful and progressive as his famous studio albums of the period - but also a bit more spontaneous too, thanks to the live setting of the tunes - a variety of British locales recorded over the years 1968 to 1971, and a few more from the US in 1974 - featuring arrangements by Keith Mansfield, Don Sebesky, Slide Hampton, and others. There's a bit of electricity in the mix at times, but as usual for Maynard, the main fire comes from the horn charts and the rhythms - which are often quite romping and filled with soul.
