Dies sind insgesamt eher milde, liebvoll gestaltete Sibelius-Interpretationen mit einer feinen Austarierung der klangfarblichen Werte sowie sensibler Gestaltung der Mittelstimmen - etwa im Allegretto moderato der Sinfonie Nr. 6. Wenn diese Einspielung dennoch nicht völlig glücklich macht, liegt das an einem allgemeinen Mangel an Dramatik sowie manchman nicht hinreichend realisierten architektonischen Bögen. Oft verliert sich Thomas Søndergård in der Realisierung einzelner Ereignisse, deren Bezug zum großen Ganzen nicht so recht spürbar wird. Und bei der Gestaltung des rhythmischen Eleemnts wäre ein zupackenderes Temperament durchaus angemessen.
