'There are few, if any, finer jazz singers than Claire Martin. She's certainly the best the U.K. has produced, with her cunning mix of straight-ahead purity and interpretive legerdemain...There's an impressive bigness to their sound, mirroring the thunderous showmanship of Prima with Keely Smith.'

Claire Martin & Ray Gelato - We've Got A World That Swings - Hi-Fi News

Ken Kessler

Sound Quality: 90%

Confession: I adore Gelato, because he, in turn, adores Louis Prima. This is his second pairing with Ms Martin, an audiophile poster child, and the results are irresistible because it's the two of them with just drums, double-bass and piano for backing. 'Swi ngs' is the key word in the title, for swing it does, and the killer sound is a bonus because the music transcends audiophile constraints. 'C'est Si Bon' and 'You Came A Long Way From St Louis' are so cool that they could form a soundtrack for a film noir homage, while 'The Coffee Song' will be the one that you'll use to demonstrate your sound system. But 'All I Do Is Dream Of You' is just about as joyous as it gets, when they do the Louis/Keely thing to perfection.
