Die Lautenistin Elizabeth Kenny bietet hier mit ihren Leuten eine gute Stunde angenehmste und kurzweilige Unterhaltung, Die Masque war zwar zunächst eine höfische Gattung, doch popularisierte man diese zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts und entwickelte eine parodistische Gegenform, die sogenannte Antimasque. Die Gegenüberstellung beider Formen erlaubt den Musikern ganz unterschiedliche Zugänge: Fein ziselierte höfische Stücke wechseln mit robusten, volkstümlichen Melodien, die gerne auch mal etwas zotig dargeboten werden wollen. Beiden Stilebenen werden die Musiker bei diesem Parforce-Ritt durch die Musikgeschichte mit großer Natürlichkeit gerecht.
