Claire Martin - Make This City Ours - The Observer

On Make This City Ours Martin's warm sensuous voice switches comfortably between a very mixed bag of styles, from husky Latin Make This City Ours Tonight, to the torch lighting Another Night and bluesy Tom Waits humour of Collagen Lips. The album has a vitality essential to jazz, thanks in no small part to an immaculate backing band who sound as though they had as good a time as Martin making this fine album.
