Finzi - James Gilchrist - What's on in London

01 July 2005
What's on in London
Colin Anderson

Gerald Finzi taps into inner feelings. These very beautiful songs, always melodious, have a human identity, reflections on life tinged by melancholy. Yet there's a noble spirit too, a refusal to self-indulge. Tenor James Gilchrist is a sensitive interpreter, one with an even and beautiful tone.
