Beethoven Piano Concertos 3, 4 & 5 - Keswick Reminder

11 June 2009
Keswick Reminder
Kevin Bryan

This fine collaboration between the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Portuguese born pianist Artur Pizarro extends over two very reasonably priced CDs and proved to be such an artistic success that the original plan to record two Piano Concertos was extended to include Beethoven's "Emperor Concerto" too. These transitional works found Beethoven moving from Classicism to the Romantic style, and they provide ideal vehicles for Pizarro's commanding keyboard technique.
