Ravel - Pizarro - The Scotsman

Angela Hewitt did it a few years ago with impeccable spirit. Now Artur Pizarro follows suit with Vol 1 of his own complete survey of Ravel's piano music. The mood is considerably more languid, relaxed and circumspect. Where that instils Jeux d'eau, Gaspard de la Nuit and Miroirs with an alluring composure, however, the wish in Serenade Grotesque is for a little more of the grotesque.
