Cuando William Carter, en sus comentarios a este disco, afirma que "Santiago de Murcia es el verdadero gigante de la guitarra borroca española", podría parecer exagerado. Pero, tras escuchar su disco, tal aserto adquiere sentido porque el guitarrista americano nos presenta la música de Murcia desde un escorzo más importante y trascendente de lo habitual. Carter no carga las tintas en el elemento folclórico; o, mejor dicho, lo recrea de manera sutil y estilizado. Los arraglos, tan de moda, para diversos instrumentos y conjunctos en definitiva minimizan esta música, que en sus manos aparece mucho más interestante, compleja y sutil de lo que se podía esperar. La riqueza tímbrica y dinámica y la belleza sonora de la guitarra de Carter nos revelaun Santiago de Murcia inesperado y extraordinariamente original.
