Mozart Symphonies 2 - SCO & Sir Charles Mackerras - Metro

26 March 2010
Metro
Warwick Thompson

When veteran Mozartian Sir Charles Mackerras conducted the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in Mozart's symphonies 38-41, released on Linn Records last year, it garnered some fabulous reviews and awards. The magic continues with Mozart Symphonies 29, 31, 32, 35 & 36 (Linn). The playing is effortless; the interpretation authoritative yet free; and the whole thing sounds as fresh as new paint. A master at the height of his game.
