    Louise Alder studied at the University of Edinburgh and Royal College of Music. From 2014 to 2019 she was a member of the solo ensemble at Oper Frankfurt, where her roles included Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Gilda in Rigoletto, Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare, Romilda in Serse, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, and the title role of The Cunning Little Vixen. She has also appeared in the title role of La Calisto at Teatro Real in Madrid; as Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; Susanna at English National Opera; Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel and Marzelline in Fidelio at Bayerische Staatsoper; Susanna, Sophie and the title role in Manon at Wiener Staatsoper; Ilia in Idomeneo and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at Garsington Opera; and Sophie at the Glyndebourne Festival and Welsh National Opera.

    In concert Alder has notably performed the title role in Semele under Sir John Eliot Gardiner in London, Paris and Milan, the title role of Theodora at the BBC Proms and in Vienna with Arcangelo under Jonathan Cohen, and performed Mozart concert arias at the Salzburg Mozartwoche with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under Daniel Harding. Elsewhere she has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouworkest, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. A passionate recitalist, she has performed at the Oxford Lieder Festival, BBC Proms, Leeds Lieder Festival, Wigmore Hall and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, The Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh, Fundación Juan March, Madrid, Fundació Victoria de los Ángeles, Barcelona, Musikverein Graz, and Oper Frankfurt with collaborators such as Sir Antonio Pappano, Joseph Middleton, Gary Matthewman, James Baillieu, Helmut Deutsch and Roger Vignoles.
