Ariel Lanyi Wins Swiss Piano Prize

Congratulations to pianist Ariel Lanyi on being named the 2023 winner of the second Swiss Piano Prize, the prestigious 'Prix Serdang'. Since we released his recording Schubert: Moments musicaux D. 780 & Piano Sonata D. 850 (The Royal Academy of Music Bicentenary Series) in 2021, we have watched Ariel's career flourish. We are thrilled that his talent has been recognised in this way.

Ariel was chosen by a panel chaired by Austrian classical pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, who was particularly impressed by his performance of Beethoven's "Hammerklavier" sonata, and said the following:

“Ariel is at a crucial point in his career. I got to know him as a serious young man who strikes me as very mature and authentic. I am convinced that the ‘Prix Serdang’ can give him an important impetus”.

Ariel will receive a prize of 50,000 CHF.
