Pizarro is BBC Instrumental Choice

Artur Pizarro is having a fantastic 2010.  He is performing the Chopin's complete solo piano works at St John's, Smith Square, London, he has released his ninth album with Linn Records to widespread acclaim, he is Yamaha's ambassador for their new AvantGrand piano and he is due to record Beethoven Piano Concertos 1 & 2 in partnership with Sir Charles Mackerras and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in summer 2010.

The latest accolade for this highly talented pianist is from BBC Music Magazine, who have awarded 'Albeniz Iberia and Granados Goyescas' five stars and named the album 'Instrumental Choice' in the July issue of the magazine.  The review is extremely positive; reviewer Robert Maycock has nothing but praise for the recording which had special personal significance for Artur, who grew up with this repertoire.  Here are just some of the quotes from this fantastic review:

"his formidable technique provides the means to a musical and poetic end"

"concentrated and full of responsive nuances, right from the lyrical opening"

"He brings spaciousness and a fine balancing of inner parts, in chords and counterpoint alike, alongside a freedom and energy very much his own"
