Pianists Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya and Richard Egarr talk about Schubert and repertoire for piano duo.
In The Studio: Duo Pleyel
Ahead of the release of its debut album of Schubert in April 2020, Duo Pleyel returns to the Netherlands to record its second programme of music for piano four-hands, this time by Johann Christian Bach.
Duo Pleyel (Richard Egarr and Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya) will perform this programme in 2021, to coincide with the launch of this album. JC Bach wrote several works for piano four-hands including Sonata Op. 15 No.6 in C major, Sonata Op. 18 No.5 in A major and Sonata Op. 18 No.6 in F major. “The London Bach" was a staunch advocate of the fortepiano and this recital is a fitting tribute to the man and the instrument.
