Claire Martin is a superb singer and Richard Rodney Bennett's piano playing is amazing, so when you get the two of them together on their When lights are low album, it is magical. And when Bennett himself sings, he does not have the greatest voice, but what he does with is perfect – it makes me want to sit down, relax and enjoy each and every nuance. On their version of 'I was a little lonely', he does these cheeky little key changes that are just superb.
