Fiona Mackenzie - Elevate - Inverness City Advertiser

We've long thought that it can only be a matter of time before a female singer making traditional music up here finally finds a sound capable of breaking through to a wider audience. And Fiona Mackenzie might just be the one to do exactly that. Perhaps more widely known for her work with Seelyhoo, Anam and (alongside her sisters) Mackenzie, this, her first solo release combines Gaelic tunes with a wider ethereal pop sensibility to great effect. It's a record that deserves to be heard by lots more people and, most importantly, it sounds like it knows it. Excellent.
