Katherine Bryan - plays Flute Concertos by Christopher Rouse and Jacques Ibert - CD Review

French composer Jacques Ibert's concerto was seized upon gratefully by modern flautists.  Ibert might have been less harmonically adventurous than some, but the charm, brilliance and humour of his concerto made it an immediate favourite.  You can hear why the last movement made it an immediate test piece for the Paris Conservatoire.  This cleanly recorded newcomer is a fine alternative, especially alongside such an interesting programme.
