Konstantin Emelyanov - Debussy, Prokofiev, Barber - BBC Radio 3 'Record Review'

Konstantin Emelyanov definitely has that lightness of touch Barber asks for, plenty of depth of tone as well, he can really lean into the piano elsewhere. In Debussy's Preludes he's more interventionist than some, there's a capriciousness about some of the pieces under his fingers that accentuates the common ground with Prokofiev's most impressionistic piano pieces his Vision Fugitives. Good sound, unusual combination of composers and an interesting pianist.
