Perfect Houseplants - Snap Clatter - Jazzwize

If Snap Clatter were a book, it'd be Alice In Wonderland - a clever, whimsical journey profuse with ideas. It's overflowing with scholarly improvs and epigrammatic phrasing that tosses and turns at every moment. A million miles from the cool, straightahead assembles we're used to, Perfect Houseplants' character is explicitly British in a quirky, eccentric manner. It's LINN-quality recording matches the high standard of playing; in particular, Huw Warren and Mark Lockheart's tuneful solos are thoughtful, lucid displays of musicianship. But be warned, the CD's playful peculiarities may rattle more conservative tastes.
