The Scottish Chamber Orchestra's former boss has moved on to a bigger job in Berlin and, from the sounds of this, is making a great success of it. This is technicolour Strauss, realised on a big scale but effective down to its tiniest detail, and Linn's engineers deserve a medal for the clarity with which they have recorded it.
