Winners of the St. Martins in the Fields Chamber Music Competition, Hattori Foundation Awards and the Martin Musical/Philharmonia Scholarship Fund, the Piatti Quartet are fast emerging as one of the UK's leading young string quartets. Recipients of a Tunnell Trust Award and selected as Park Lane Group (PLG) Young Artists, the Piatti Quartet spent two years as Leverhulme Chamber Music Fellows at the Royal Academy of Music. The Piatti Quartet was chosen for the ‘Future Classics Classical Tour' supported by the PLG and Foreign and Colonial Investment Trust, which also resulted in a CD recording.

The Quartet has made numerous appearances on BBC Radio 3 both in concert and on the programme ‘In Tune'. Performances at major venues throughout the UK include Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Conway Hall, St Georges Church (Bristol), The Queen's Hall (Edinburgh) and at festivals such as the Newbury Spring Festival and the Bath Festival. The Quartet has enjoyed working with and being coached by members of the Amadeus Quartet, Alban Berg Quartet, Artis Quartet, Hagen Quartet, Endellion Quartet and Maggini Quartet. In particular, the Quartet enjoyed two years studying on a full Scholarship with Gunter Pichler at the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid.

The Piatti Quartet is extremely grateful for the generosity and support of John Woolf, Ian Ellis, the Nicholas Boas Charitable Trust, the Musicians Benevolent Fund, the Hattori Foundation and the Concordia Foundation.
