Together they explore pieces that have several touchpoints, not least the synergy between French and Hungarian culture: Bartók Violin Sonata No.2; Poulenc Violin Sonata; Ravel Tzigane; plus Dohnányi's Valse Coppélia by Délibes. After a much-fêted recital at Wigmore Hall in 2017, the Financial Times wrote: "Then came the highlight: Ravel’s Tzigane. This piece has provided many a violinist with a show-stopping finale, but few pull it off with the same commitment, sense of freedom, or humour as Kopatchinskaja. She made this well-whipped warhorse seem new…"
