Boston Baroque - Haydn Creation - Musical Pointers

A very satisfying new studio recording from America, reminding us what a delight is Haydn's zestful treatment of the often naive van Swieten text.

It was printed in English during's Haydn's lifetime, but the German words fit the music better, says the conductor in his introduction.

My only (slight) criticism is that the voices are often a bit too forward, pushing the baroque instrumental support to the background.

But all in all, it is enjoyable and convincing
