    Biography

The RSNO Junior Chorus seeks to provide a musical education by teaching the young people involved how to learn and appreciate music. In addition to encouraging the youngsters to learn about expression, the chorus also acts as a means to improving the confidence and self-belief of the talented young musicians. It is an unrivalled experience for the children to learn and participate in outstanding, professional music making under the leadership of its charismatic Director, Christopher Bell.

Originally formed in 1978 by Jean Kidd, the RSNO Junior Chorus has built up a considerable reputation singing under some of the world's most distinguished conductors and appearing on radio and television. RSNO Junior Chorus members sing regularly with Scotland's National Orchestra in major concert halls and festivals throughout the country, as well as appearances at the BBC Proms and Edinburgh International Festival.

To provide the highest level of training and guidance as the singers progress, the chorus is divided into five groups; the Training Choir, Probationary Choirs 1 and 2, the Changed Voices group and the Junior Chorus.
