The Marian Consort Wins Prestigious Accolade
Vicente Lusitano: Motets is awarded the Quarterly Critic’s Choice accolade
A fascinating article by journalist and writer Holly Williams has been published by the BBC; it tells the story of the first known published black composer – Vicente Lusitano – whose music is only now being heard, alongside a revival of interest in his long-neglected choral music. Lusitano is the inspiration for The Marian Consort's 2022 EP Inviolata and their first full album release on Linn (coming in October). A remarkable composer, worthy of discovery.
